Patient empowerment is fundamental to unlocking the potential that exists in all of us and to free up vital resources within healthcare to be used where they are needed most. Internet and social media is widely available to all highlighting the need to connect people to trusted information and what this could achieve. The challenge though is how to communicate to the masses to help them understand their own health information and hence become empowered.
