Objectives of the Winter School: Diagnosis and Decision Making Frameworks for Family Physicians and General Practitioners

For personalised healthcare to reach its full potential, family physicians and general practitioners (GP/FPs) need to be fully integrated and become the catalyst for change. As populations are classified into smaller subtypes of diseases, screening and diagnosis become essential to match the right patient with the right therapies at the right time. This opening keynote will highlight the potential impact of appropriately diagnosing patients early to facilitate the right therapy and avoid overtreatment.

Additionally, as healthcare professionals are becoming more subspecialised, the role of general physicians becomes essential to ensure the full patient is not overlooked.  Also, GPs/FPs are a valuable resource for patients to navigate the healthcare system and make more informed treatment decisions.
