Private Investment to Drive Forward Healthcare

Significant potential remains for private investment players to create value. Where other industries have been transformed by competition, healthcare has lagged behind due to regulation, localised market dynamics, and high existing margins reducing the pressure to change. Efficiency initiatives, digitisation, portfolio rationalisation, and investment optimisation have only recently begun, and much work is still to be done.

Private sector investment can initiate these transformation programmes, install tougher KPIs, provide capital, and facilitate consolidation thus creating and capturing economies of scale.  The session will deal with:

  • Has private investment struggled to gain access?
  • How can private equity firms increase their participation in European healthcare?
